VW Passat engine fault workshop light and not turning over right away

Asked by Guru2RTPT Mar 03, 2020 at 01:11 PM about the 2010 Volkswagen Passat

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hey guys, so my car has been leaking coolant for a month
or so and I have taken it to a mechanic who couldnt find
any leaks or anything wrong and today I went to start it and
it took awhile for it to turn over and it said engine fault
workshop on my dash. If anyone could help me out that
would be great I am extremely worried it's something very
bad. Thanks guys

I really appreciate this. I really hope it's not a blown head gasket that is not cheap. I can see wet spots under my vehicle where coolant is leaking though. I have an appointment for Monday and wont be driving it until then. It's frustrating though because I took it in already for the coolant leak and they told me they couldnt find anything wrong. Thanks again.

Just an update, I took it somewhere else this morning and they called and said I had a bad waterpump and needed a new speed sensor in the engine. I'm really hoping that fixes everything since it's a 900 dollar bill.
