2001 vw Passat v6 check engine light

Asked by Guru5HT94 Jan 17, 2018 at 07:30 PM about the 2001 Volkswagen Passat GLS V6

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My check engine light is on. Sometimes it goes off
and sometimes it flashes. The error code is for
cylinder misfires but it reads for different cylinders
when I take it to oreileys for a diagnostic code. I
have replaced the spark plugs twice and the
ignition wires twice but the problem only goes
away for a few months then comes back. Does
anyone know what's going on with my car? Have
you experienced this before? Thank you!

the VR6 had issues with the coil pack.use a squirt bottle with water, start engine and spray coil pack, if you see a light show replace the coil.

P0301-6 but not all at the same time. It seems every time I go to get a diagnostic that it's a different cylinder
