1997 honda Accord does it have a non interference engine

Wondering the same thing because Honda-Tech says yes it is interference, but I have non-vtec DX which (I read somewhere, cant find now) has a modified version of the sohc f22 engine

Found the link, it's Scotty on yourmechanic. com I don't trust it. Every other source says that while it is an interference engine, you might get lucky and not destroy your engine. If it snaps, IMMEDIATELY put it in neutral and get it towed. Definitely replace it at least every 100k or 60k to be safe. $800 at Firestone, highly recommend
