Bad Starter of my Honda Accord.

I have a Honda Accord 1997 2.2L Automatic. I changed the Starter about 5 different
times. It works for a while then goes bad again. I have to tap it almost every time after
that.
It would start by itself when the engine cools down. Hot engine, it needs to be tapped.
I am bamboozled when quite a few mechanics have failed to diagnose that what is the
actual problem??

find a better mechanic- are all these starters rebuilt? find a different brand of starter motor- maybe a new one- a strange problem-
Yes all of them are rebuilt. Honda doesnt manufacture new starters any more for this model. Consulted 5 different mechanics. One of them said try to test the Alternator. Not sure if that could be the issue ??

Sure they are rebuilt, but five of em bad so fast....no I think the vehicle has a bad primary ground...and/or the bell housing on the transmission, where the starter mounts could be rust/contaminated. Believe it or not the starter has to ground to the transmission housing. Now also scrape/sand that reman paint off of your new Starter to make sure it has a solid connection to that clean housing. End of problem.
