Spark Plug Boot Not Flush

Asked by ferg8209 May 15, 2019 at 11:37 AM about the 2008 Subaru Impreza 2.5i Wagon

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I'm in the reassembly phase of my engine rebuild, 08 Impreza EJ253. All but
one of the spark plug wires fell into place seamlessly. The problem child clicks
into place but there is a small gap (1/4"-1/2") between the lip of the spark plug
boot and the valve cover. Any ideas on what would be causing this or any
problems it might present further on down the road?

Thanks
