AWD dash light is staying on what is the diagnosis

The old-style ABS "rings" can et corroded or lose a tooth, too. Replacing the rings and/or sensors can be a nightmare of broken rusty bits, so at this age I'd learn to live without ABS. Oops! You wrote AWD! In that case Rodney and i misread. If someone inserted a fuse (or other shorting wire) in the AWD/FWD fuse slot under the hood the AWD transfer case is electrically removed from the driveline. So check that. ABS wheel sensor issues will NOT affect the AWD operation....
