2013 KIA Sorento ran out of oil without warning.

Asked by JoAnn Feb 20, 2022 at 09:46 PM about the 2013 Kia Sorento EX V6 AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2013 Kia Sorento just ran out of oil without any oil light going on.  Had the
oil changed just 1,000 miles ago.  The engine is ruined... anybody have any
idea of KIA will help?

I doubt it. You'll need to go back to where you got the oil change and talk to them. But be prepared for a long fight! The vehicle is 9 years old and their first line of defense will be the low oil pressure warning light or gauge. If the low oil pressure warning system is not working they won't take responsibility for that. Plus if the vehicle is worth less than the cost of a replacement engine you'll probably, at best, be offered a settlement for the value of the vehicle. Good luck to you with this!! Jim
