CVT step motor went out after 36k miles.

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My car all of a sudden started accelerating (RPG's) going down the freeway
with cruise control.  Then when I stopped, I could barely get through the
intersection when it start sputtering and lunged forward.  Is there no recall??  
This is SUCH a safety issue!!

Spread the word that Nissan CVT's are the worst. Have you hit up you Nissan dealer for a new transmission? You can also complain directly to Nissan.

I just called them and they said I am under the 5 year or 60k warranty mark so it should be covered. I am towing it today. Hopefully that will fix it because it is way too soon to be having transmission issues. Ty for the answer and I agree!
