Installed new battery and have no power at all.

Asked by radioman Feb 28, 2015 at 08:59 PM about the 1992 Honda Accord LX

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My battery died from the cold
, I tried jumping it but had the cables  reversed, so thinking I fried the old I purchased a
new one and I still have no power, could there be some fuse blown? I have a 1992 Honda
Accord.

If you are lucky, you might have only "blown a fuse". I do not know about Hondas but reverse wiring a battery typically will fry other components like the electronics. I would start with your owners manual and a few hours on the internet to look for solutions.

Or a fusible link in the under-hood power supply/relay/fuse box. You should be able to see where the positive battery cable goes to a stud terminal under the cover. That usually goes to a fusible link, then to a second stud to the left or right of the first one. That cable should go out to the alternator & starting/charging system. If that link is there it should have burned out and would give you a no power condition.
