Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I've tried several different alternator bolts
from 92 to 2000 Hondas and they are all
different. None of them look anything like
the original.

It's the top bolt used for adjusting I guess. If I tap it bigger the bolt won't fit through the mount.

Like I said I've tried several bolts. Anything even slightly bigger won't go through the mount bracket. The original bolt didn't really turn in. It pushed through.

I was thinking of maybe getting a new mount. Is that possible won't it come with the right stuff

nick..the mount OR BRACKET that holds the alt to the engine BOTTOM.. is it the long bolt??if so you can drill out the bracket 1-2-3- 4- inches for the new bolt... anyway if the top ..dont see why a new nut and bolt WITH STAR WASHERS SANDWICHED BETWEEN ALL wont fix it and the bottom..you can do the same thing... also look at the movie..and tell me at what time your having the problem with the bolt.. > www.youtube.com/watch?v=9M4lB8n6Vmk

Mine doesn't look like that. It has a plug on the side for the wiring. You just plug it in. The mount is on the back of the motor and leads to the same spot but a bolt goes through the top of the alternator. Not on the side
