Is it worthwhile to get a clip job on a car?

Asked by OhMyCuriousMind Jun 02, 2016 at 09:48 PM about the 2005 Honda Accord EX-L

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I was rear ended. My mechanic (who I trust and have a good relationship with) is willing to repair the car for much less than what I know the whole job is supposed to cost (so I know he won't be making much profit from the repair). My question is since the repair will include a clip job, from a safety perspective is it worthwhile to do? Currently, the whole  back is smashed, the rear windshield is gone,  and the body of the rear driver side is slightly warped. The car (engine and transmission) is in really good condition otherwise and if I wouldn't have been rear-ended I know I would have had that car for several years longer. The car is a 2005 Honda Accord with just about 133k miles. I believe the model is EX-L (leather seats, heated seats, sunroof, multi-disc CD changer, etc.). Any advice is appreciated. Thanks.

An 11 year old automobile with 133k IS A WASTE OF TIME TO CHANGE A REAR CLIP UNLESS ITS A $500 dollar..Deal... THEN THEN THERE IS, THE SALVAGE TITLE STIGMA REPAIR JOB! Whats the insurance company have to say about the vehicle? REPAIR OR TOTALED?
