My key won't turn into the lock position

My key won't turn into the lock position so it's stuck on
accessory, and start. I can turn it to start the car and
everything but won't go into lock position for me to pull it
out i tried most common things. Any idea how to fix this?
I'm pretty good with car work but this has me stumped
