My 2003 Elantra GLS jerks while driving. Sometimes when accelerating and sometime when I start it.

I can be driving at 50 or 60 miles and accelerate the car will jerk, sometimes after sitting for 4 or 5 hours it will jerk or sputter when started.  It has around 85000 miles with regular scheduled maintenance.

You could start by installing a new set of spark plugs and a air filter. If it still does it, get the codes read at the parts store to see if there are any pending.
