My car oil is sludge

Asked by Tammy Oct 13, 2017 at 02:21 PM about the 2003 Mercedes-Benz C-Class C 230 Kompressor Coupe

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My cars oil is sludge and currently not running bc I need a new starter. My question is, is there anything I can put in the oil to keep it from getting thicker (if that's possible) or something to help loosed up while just waiting to be repaired. Thank you

Does the oil look like brownish junk? If so I suspect you have a leaking head gasket. Coolant leaking into the oil will make a brownish or tan gunk that will ruin your engine.
