the serpentine belt is making noises

Asked by mmbabydoll7 Jul 27, 2012 at 07:59 PM about the 2000 Ford Focus LX

Question type: General

The serpentine belt is making noises and the timing chain is making noises.  About 1 month ago I had to get a new battery and today when I went to start it - it would not even turn over.  So my boyfriend jump started it and it started but after that it wouldn't start again.  Any ideas on what to do here?

Have your battery 'drop' tested possibly an internal failure, also have the charging system tested to ensure the Alternator is supplying the correct Voltage and Amps. The fact that you have said the drive belt is making a noise would suggest that the Alternator is working overtime trying to charge a duff battery.
