Hi, My name is Chris. Can someone please tell me how to change the whole front driver
side caliper on Ford Focus 2000 SE. I already bought the new caliper. and I'm not familiar
with the brake setting up the fluid. Please help.

Welcome to the world of antilock brakes Chris. Back in the day, you could rip the caliper off, bleed the thing and be done with it. Not anymore! Thanks safety lobbyists! Disconnect the battery... take the thing out if you want... it's in the way. Find a friend. You could use gravity bleeding or a pump or a one man bleeder hose, but you really want to do this right. Fill caliper with fluid before installing. This ensures there are no air pockets that can ruin your day later on. Diagrams for removing and intalling the caliper are available at ford's website... just in case you don't know how to do that part. If you have not drained the master cylinder and the fluid is still clean and good, let the fluid drain out of the hose as you attach it to the new caliper. Your Friend should be adding fluid to the master cylinder as needed while you do this so as to minimize the air in the line and the time needed to do the bleeding process. also loosen the bleeder screw so that when the brake line is attached, fluid flows through the line and the caliper and pushes out any air trapped during assembly. Attach the caliper to the car. Bleed left front, right front, left rear, right rear, repeat until the pedal has very little travel and isn't mooshy. If you disconnected the ABS speed sensor be sure to reconnect it before putting the wheel back on! reinstall the battery. Start the car and test the brake pedal, without moving, obviously! IF your ABS light comes on but the brakes seem fine at a standstill, allow the car to creep backwards and forwards The light should go off. IF it doesn't go out, there may be a fault in the system. Use a different car and go borrow a code reader tool from Advance auto, O'Reilley or Napa.
