Whiny power steering pimp

Asked by GuruZ23H2 Nov 26, 2017 at 08:10 PM about the 2000 Ford Focus SE

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I installed a refurbished power steering pump and
high pressure line. I filled it with Mercon V and bled
it and even vacuumed out any possible air. When I
accelerate it whines. Can I try adding an additive
like Lubegard? Is there a specific additive to mix
with Mercon V?

who ever says that mercon v isn't for power steerinr units is an idiot, I checked with ford and they use mercon trans fluid ib thetre power steering units, I know for a fact that a 2001 ford focus zxe takes mercon v in the power steering.
