Question type: Maintenance & Repair

when i try to start the car the started just clicks and wont engage. i bought
another starter and it does the same...when the starter is off the car it
works, spins and engages, but on the car it just clicks. the wires are hooked up

Transmission or motor maybe seized up try putting socket and ratchet on crank shaft bolt to see if motor spins freely.

Battery has a full charge and connections all good? My info says your security system is starter motor disable, something to think about. See the starter relay unplug it, the switch side of relay is that line with arrow. Terminal 3 is hot all the time and fuse protected. Use a test light and check for voltage at that terminal. Make sure tranny is in park or neutral and parking brake is set. Use a jumper wire between the terminals on the switch side. The starter motor may crank? As you can see the tranny range sensor is involved. Even if you get it to crank, it may not start if security system is involved.
