why is my cel on and not going out?

the cel came on in my 2009 sonata and at first it was the evap purge valve so
i replaced it and now it is saying it is the evap vent valve.  what should i do to
get the light out because it is due for inspection next month.

You need to get that stuff fixed or you will not pass. I would suggest bringing it into a shop that can work on this kind of stuff, they probably will end up doing a smoke test on the emissions system to find any other problems. Once the problem is fixed then the codes can be cleared. If you clear them before fixing the problem, they will just come right back.
