Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I rear ended a Corvette only going maybe
10 mph, and my airbag deployed!  My front
end damage wasn’t That bad, nothing was
leaking, and there were 2 very tinny
indentations on the rear of his car.  Isn’t
this way to slow to have that airbag go off?
Even 2 of my Insurance Adjusters said
they’ve much more damage and the airbag
Did Not deploy!

Welcome to the world of Hyundai. Each manufacturer sets their own tolerances for their airbags, though most are very, very close to each other. Hyundai's tend to deploy the airbags on nearly any direct front impact. It all depends on the angle of impact, speed, and g-force as was mentioned above. Are they going to total the car? Once the original airbags are deployed, that is usually the case as they are very expensive to replace and most people will not buy a car with an accident history that indicates airbag deployment. If they do not total it, I would definitely ask them about diminished value. That comes into play when a car has been in an accident and is no longer worth the resale price that it would have otherwise. Good luck to you!
