I have a 2001 v70 xc I'm changing the front axle shafts . I can't get them out a machanic told me that Volvo had problems with the retainer clips holding the shafts in and there fix was to use metal

Glue to hold them in. How do I get
them out ?

If you have access to a ball joint remover it can be used to pry it out,it is like a fork that slides up around the shaft end and pry outward.
