chevy rear end interchangeablity

I would like to upgrade the rear diff in my 2000 Z71 Tahoe to at least a 3/4 ton.
Will the rear diff from a 2500 suburban work? Or what vehicles are
interchangeable?

Yes I do understand I would be going from 6 lug to 8 lug. I am selling my motorhome and buying a trailer. I've heard that the rearend in the 1500 is prone to breaking so I wanted to upgrade. Once I know what vehicles are interchangeable I plan on going to pick and pull and getting the rearend, the front spindles and front brakes. The tahoe is paid for and has had the engine and tranny replaced after the kids both learned to drive in it. I thought is would be better to upgrade than buy a new vehicle or a used one with someone else's problems.
