2004 Infiniti G35 Coupe 6MT - anyone know who the OEM is for the clutch kit and the flywheel?
Asked by mccartp2 May 22, 2014 at 03:53 PM about the 2004 INFINITI G35 Coupe RWD
Question type: Maintenance & Repair
Car dealers won't tell me, Infiniti USA says they can't give that info out, and in several online forums there are many references to OEMs but no one seems to know who they are. Bit of a mystery around a rather simple question. Any help very much appreciated!

Your dealer is following what appears to be established responses to consumer questions. If your car, you or someone else's property was damaged due to a failure of any particular part the manufacturer of that part will be found as every vehicle produced has a complete listing of all parts and their supplier. For the Infiniti G35 there are a number of possible OEM's. It's rare that any car manufacturer will use only one OEM, the risk for a possible shut down due to delivery problems, etc., is too great. There is one company that supplies both OEM to manufacturers and also as an aftermarket (albeit an OEM after market). That company is Exedy. Exedy claims that they have an OEM clutch kit for your vehicle model. http://www.horsepowerfreaks.com/partdetails/Exedy/clutch/clutch_kits/OEM _Replacement/19690/-/Infiniti/G35
Thx Dan - a bit more digging has me thinking it's Exedy, and a slim chance that it's Valeo (for the clutch kit)....I ended up speaking with a tech guy at Exedy, so that info is straight from him. He said they definitely didn't do the flywheel for that model/year - any idea how I might find out?

I'll make a couple of contacts but off hand no one specific comes to mind.
