Premium reccomended? Can I use regular?

So I'm 15 year old guy driving a Infiniti QX56
2004. God I love the car but I hate paying for its
fuel, my mom always tells me to get premium
which before now used to go up to 4.99 where I
lived. So even now that premium is 2.49 and
regular is 2.29, could my car use regular? My
manual says
FUEL RECCOMDATIONS:
Use unleaded at least 91 AKI

Use premium. If you don't the vehicle is liable to ping and rattle.
The QX56 has a 5.6L V8 engine with dual overhead cam (DOHC). Technically you can use regular 87 unleaded, but the QX56 is tuned for 91 octane fuel, so you really should be using that to avoid knocking & pinging...Knock is never good for an engine, rods, pistons, etc. I have an Infiniti G37x with the 3.7L V6 and it also has a 91 octane fuel recommendation...To avoid any potential problems, I'm sticking with 91 vs 87 octane. I'd recommend the same for you since my engine is a high compression V6, guessing the same for the QX56.

14and 9months is when you start driver's education in Michigan. If he is almost 16, it's very likely he's driving. But also keep in mind, that the 15 year old who posted this question is now 20, as it was asked 5 years ago
