PAT key

Need to get a new transponder key and reset the PATS to accept a new master. Or take it to the dealership and let them reencode a new master key. There is no real cheap solution.

how do you reset The PATS

i mean is it a do it yourself thing or is it difficult

I got lucky with mine it was a fleet truck and has no chip in the key. So it is possible to get it changed back and get a regular key. Even in my trucks or cars with chip keys I have one regular key for a spare to open doors. I would look into removing the transponder unit if possible way cheaper in the long run, if you dont mind that loss of security key.
