Loud rubbing noise from front drivers side wheel on 2002 Infiniti G20

Asked by Emily Apr 22, 2018 at 12:53 PM about the 2002 INFINITI G20 FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2002 Infiniti G20 and its making a very
loud rubbing noise from the left front wheel. It
goes away when I apply the breaks and hit the gas,
and its goes louder and faster with the
acceleration of the car, but you can only hear it
when you're not on the gas or breaks.
I was thinking it could be a wheel bearing or a tie
rod, but I'm not sure.  The wheel doesn't rock or
shake and their isn't a shake in the steering wheel.
I was wondering if anybody on here had any ideas
as to what it could be.

More than likely the bearing. You will need to pull the wheel and brake rotor to check it out.
