My car was sitting up for a year without being started and when I finally go to move it my engine is revving in high gear when started. What do you think it can be ?

Modern cars use an airflow sensor. Dust can accumulate on it during storage. Review procedure for cleaning the sensor on your car and the idle should return to normal. I have several Jaguars that only get occasional use and I've had to do this a few times.
