1998 Chevy k1500 Misfires right after starting

Asked by Rachel Oct 29, 2016 at 04:48 PM about the 1998 Chevrolet C/K 1500 Silverado Extended Cab 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

For the past 2 weeks every time I've started my
truck it misfires and runs rough for about 15
seconds and then smooths out and runs just fine.
Spark plugs, wires, distributor cap and rotor button
have all been changed in the past month. Fuel filter
changed a little over a year ago. Thinking maybe
the IAC valve may be going bad but not sure. Any
suggestions?? Truck has the 350 Vortec engine.

Nope not triggering any misfire codes. No smoke at all. Would it make a difference that the catalytic converters were removed last year and now it's straight piped?
