Crank no start no power to fuel pump

Asked by GoCougs3 Jan 24, 2018 at 10:05 PM about the 1998 Chevrolet C/K 1500 Silverado Extended Cab 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 98 Silverado 5.0 that I just replaced the fuel
pump on. Now I am not receiving any power to the
fuel pump. I double checked the wiring (this new
company came with an upgraded connector) still
nothing.
Any ideas?

I checked the ground and cleaned it up with a wire brush. I used a multi meter tool and had was not getting any voltage to the plugs of the pump wiring harness. Had the black to the ground and the red to the wire bringing power (I am a newbie, so I hope I am doing this right)

I just a little jumper wire to jump the power to the ground pins at the relay box. When conencted I was able to hear the pump run. So I'm sure the pump is good. Just got another new relay that was tested in front of me at the store, plugged it in and still not working. Any ideas? Thanks!
