crank no start

I was driving my 1998 Z71 with the 5.7 and it just
died but before that the truck ran great I really need
some help guys and gals

Like said above you need to confirm what you lost, fuel or spark or power to engine, Check fuses and main circuit breakers under dash and hood too.

well if I spray ether in it it run real quick then cut off I'm thinking it's the crank sensor but I wouldn't get no fire if it was bad right

Then you lost fuel and yes if the crankshaft sensor has failed completely, and isn't sending a signal to the ECU at all, then the computer won't send any fuel to the injectors. This will leave you unable to start it. There may even be a code set for it but may not have set yet. Of course you can check for fuel pressure to be sure the fuel pump is working. If fuel pump is working then crank sensor may be the issue as the injectors have to open to get fuel out of them. Bad ignition module may be at fault too. They can (and do) fail in a way that you can still have spark, but no signal to the PCM/ECU/ECM to ground the injectors. They also fail in a way that won't allow spark. Of course the computer too can be bad.
