Which fuse is the box is for 4WD, don't have the cover.

Asked by GuruY2X86 Mar 27, 2018 at 04:04 AM about the 1996 Chevrolet C/K 1500 Cheyenne Extended Cab 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Just bought used 96 chev Cheyenne 5.0, the last owner
said recently 4x wasn't working, no lights on floor
shifter, no engagement. Have heard several reasons
why this may happen. I'm assuming the fuse that
allows lights, 4 x engagement is under the hood?, but
the cover is missing, I'd like to know it's location and
what it's labeled as. Had to leave it down hill from
home, driveway too muddy and no front wheel action.
Sure would appreciate someone pointing it out to me.

The fuse for the transfer case should be located in the box, left side under dash. You may need a new transfer case control module.
