Replace intake gasket and now truck won't start but it tries

Asked by Dennis Hanks Jun 06, 2021 at 04:28 AM about the 1996 Chevrolet C/K 1500 Silverado Extended Cab 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I replace the intake gasket on this truck and
marked my distributor and everything lined back up
when I put it together but now it tries to start but
won't. It has been sitting for almost a year because
my mother was passing away so I didn't have time
to work on it

Did you drain the fuel from the fuel tank and clean the lines?

I checked the fuel pressure at the line and I got 50 psi but it seems like the fuel is not going to the injectors because when I spray it with starting fluid it tries to start but I did check my mass air flow sensor and half of it was covered with the water and oil mix so I cleaned it but I haven't tried it yet. Before I try it I'm going to pull one of the plugs out and see what they look like. Any advice would be helpful
