Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Okay So I want to replace my AC system in my
1995 Chevy c1500 and want to know if I were to put
in a later years setup (1996 and up) would it fit into
my 95. The reason I want to change the years is
because 1995 is the last year of OBD1 and the last
time they used R12 before switching to R134A

No, but the compressor you buy now is compatible with r134a. Get a new compressor, accumulator, oriface tube and replace all the o rings the you'll be good. You can buy conversion fittings if you still have r12. Although my 95 has r134a, I was pretty sure they started changing over refrigerent in 1994
