I know the firing order have a timing gun, but can't get it to run ... got fuel and fire...
Plus it was running great till I changed the pushrods out
If you set the distributor so that the rotor points to number one cylinder on the cap while the engine is at TDC on cylinder number one compression stroke then the timing should be close enough for the engine to start.
I know that. Thanks, but they or whomever took out my distributor and the makers are not right on the harmonic balancer
Yes the pushrods are the same
Good question about the pushrods but I check that
I have never heard of the markers not being "right" on the harmonic balancer. Why do you say they are off? TDC can also be found by taking the number 1 plug out and slowly rotating the engine. Air blowing out of the hole tells you it is on compression stroke and if you carefully use a probe of some kind you can find TDC by feeling the piston moving up.
Once you get the engine to TDC you can trial fit the distributor until the rotor is pointing to number one cylinder.
I got the God dam same problem driving me crazzy I had it running great then took out distrebider and now tryed every thing won't start
