Towing Travel Trailer

Asked by robertshan Jun 08, 2019 at 08:08 PM about the 1994 Chevrolet C/K 1500 Silverado Extended Cab Stepside RWD

Question type: General

I have a Chevy Silverado, stepside, 5.7, 350 V8. I want to tow a 3,200 lb travel trailer. Will it handle it, and do I need an oil and transmission cooler installed before towing?

1 Answer

If it does not have the tow package already I would add transmission cooling and beef up the engine cooling system. A fresh oil change before towing is also a good idea.
