My 1992 chevy 1500 5.7 4L80E ext cab shifts
at super high rpms. It also jerks hard when
going from neutral to drive from park. Fluid
levels seem to be ok. It does shift in all the
gears BUT IT has to be at certain sleed and
rpms feel like they are maxing out before it
shifts

see if there's a vacuum line on the tranny or some kind of linkage from the motor , The vacuum may run through a modulator that needs adjustment or replacement , the linkage may be broken , these are what dictate shift points , your experience may differ

How do I tell if my vehicle has a vacuum line? Some models have a electronic module dont they? Mine is a TBI
This could be a symptom of a worn timing chain in the engine. Does the engine also run hot and or boil over when you shut off the engine? Does it lack power? If so, check your ignition timing. If it's retarded (late) you have a worn timing chain. Don't bother trying to reset the ignition timing to compensate for the worn timing chain if that's what it is! Hope that helps!

Engine don't overheat. Nor does it lack power when I shut off the engine I do hesr a few bubbling type noises but stops fairly quick

I'm not sure how the tranny is modulated on that you'll have to look , If you can get a timing light on it perhaps when you rev it the timing mark will " dance " and that may indicate a worn chain , Maybe the filter is clogged , Guess it wouldn't hurt to drop the pan and see or pull the lower coolant line at the radiator and see what kind of pressure you have , put a hose on it to run in a bucket and hang on because it'll blast out of there . There's also the possibility that the tranny is worn out .
