89 chevy 4.3 tbi. Took out my accel distributor and
put a gm distributor. Fires up good but runs like i
have a burnt plug wire. Can u get one tooth off on
my truck? Some say its right are 180 off. One tooth
is a myth.

If the distributor has a drive gear then yes. Did you check the timing? Do you have a bad plug wire, spark plug or distributor cap?
All new wires and plugs. It fires up good i had to retard it to smooth it out. Then it wont start unless i advance it back. Thats why i put a stock distributor thought my other one was bad. Everything is new but the coil.
Trying to do it old school no light. Got my damper marks at about 2:00-5:00.
Even if the distrubutor is off one tooth you can compensate by rotating the distrubutor a little. Make sure you have the firing order correct.
Changing coil wouldnt help? I will check firing order though thanks.
