My battery light light came on on 2000 ford ranger.What could it be?

My ranger truck quit running because the battery was no good and would not
run off the alternator so I replaced the battery and alternator and now the
battery light stays on so what do I need to do  to repair it?

I have found the problem after watching a video on what it could be.The problem was a fuse below the fuse box that is located under the hood.Their is a large fuse 125 amp. located directly below this fuse box and I would never have known it was their if I hadn't watched the video I found on here.The guy that posted the video showed where this fuse is located and exactly how to replace it.You will need a 13mm socket and ratchet and about 10 minutes of time and you will be in good shape....Jimmy Jackson
