What is going on with my gas gauge?

I have a 2017 kia forte LX. Long story short, I was driving the other night and
my low fuel light came on. I had stopped and put $10 in the tank and my gas
range had stayed at 36 miles until empty. The gas needle had moved
accordingly however. Now I had went home looking into the issue. Next
morning, I had started my car and the needle was at a 1/4 tank only after
driving 13 miles. Does anyone have an idea of what it could be? And any
easy fix or diagnostic recommendations to pinpoint what it is? I know that a
week ago a check engine light came on for a misfire in cylinder two ( was
told just a spark plug) but the light went away. Are they connected?

I doubt the CEL is connected to your fuel issue, but you never know. Have the Kia dealer diagnose the issue. You might be still under warranty.
