2017 Kia Sportage Ex AWD shh noise when starting
Hi all. I bought my Sportage a few weeks ago and
I've noticed a shhh/hissing noise when I start it. It
seems to be louder when it's colder outside, but
not as loud when it's about 40° or higher.

Does it go away when it reaches operational temperature? If so, it could be a low fluid warning, transmission, steering etc. I suggest you have it checked over before something bad happens. Remember it is a KIA so anything can happen at any time.
If it sounds like it's coming from under the dash you may have a vacuum leak in the heater/air conditioner system that leaks down when you shut off the engine. Then when you start the engine the next time it refills so to speak. Jim
If I were sitting in my car with the door closed and I started, I don't really hear the noise inside. I noticed when I had my door open and was halfway in starting my car to warm it up.
