Do climate control, volume, tune and other knobs/buttons located under the touchscreen on 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee supposed to light up when dark? Mine do not.

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Just bought a new 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo and noticed the
knobs/controls and buttons on center panel located beneath the touchscreen
don't light up at night. Should they? Most controls are located on the
touchscreen anyway but seems odd these knobs/buttons wouldn't light up
when dark. Answer is hard to find.

What position is the Headlight switch in, is it in 'A' or 'O'? We noticed a similar issue and the headlight switch was set to 'O' which is off. We now keep it on 'A' for automatic and the climate control lights work at night.
