2017 Chevrolet Cruise rough idle when AC kicks on

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2017 Chevrolet Cruze with less than 25000
miles on it. I just bought it two days ago and I
noticed that when the AC kicks on while the car is
in idle it shakes the car.

While the car is brand new and under warranty, I
just need to know if it's locking of maintenance or
it's the beginning of a more serious issue that's
well-known but my Google search has not yielded
results

The AC puts an extra load on the engine when it is on. The engine computer should adjust idle speed to keep it at around 700 RPM with the extra load. If the throttle body is dirty or the intake air control valve is dirty or damaged, it can make it harder for the ECU to adjust idle. Try cleaning the throttle body and IAC. It may take one or more cycles for the ECU to relearn proper idle mixture after that.
