Won't Accelerate Past 10 mph

Asked by moorejt2435 Aug 10, 2014 at 06:54 PM about the 1999 Isuzu Rodeo 4 Dr S V6 4WD SUV

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My Car starts fine sounds a little ruff and when trying to accelerate past 10 mph it won't
accelerate. Before it wouldn't accelerate over 40 mph then the next day wouldn't go over
20 mph. Took it to a mechanic and they said that it was the crankshaft and the piston rods
blew in the car. No sure about that.

Not good. I think you should get a second opinion. But I fear that the first guy was right.

2003 izusu rodeo won’t accerate over 10mph. It idles fine and gets real rough over 10mph. Trans oil look clean and full.

Hi this is GuruTSPF5! I figured out my problem, the two front O2 sensors went bad which resulted in the car to run rich. Because of this it melted the inside of the catalytic converters which clogged the exhaust. Mass air sensor was fine.
