Where is the transmission dipstick located in 2017
Chevy Malibu? And should the motor need be hot
or cold/running or off when checking it? TIA

It might not have one !! The older models had to be put on a lift and raised so as to gain access to the fluid level check plug I'm not sure if this applies to your model
