Cold air from steering column

Asked by GuruB56VF Dec 12, 2018 at 01:08 PM about the 2017 Dodge Grand Caravan SXT FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I recently purchased a 2017 Dodge Caravan SXT which was previously a
demo. I have noticed that while driving, there is cold air blowing from the
bottom section of the steering column (where the lever is to adjust the
steering wheel tilt). I brought it to the dealership's attention and they told me
they have never heard of this issue before and have not even attempted to
source the issue. Any direction as to where the cold air could be coming from
or why I seem to be the only one with this complaint would be greatly
appreciated.

I have the same issue with my 2018 Dodge Caravan. One dealership told me it was the cold coming off the metal components of the steering column. Taking it to another dealership to see what they can find. A repairman from the Windsor Assembly Plant, where the Caravan is built, told me it may be a pinched heater hose.
