All lights came on dash and car died.

Question type: Maintenance & Repair
I have a 2017 hyundai tucson and I was at a stop light and when I went to
take off, every single light on the dash came on and the car froze up. I had
to have it towed; they replaced some kind of vacuum cup seal and the next
morning when I started it, the same thing happened and I had to have it
towed again. Now they are telling me that they had to replaece the backup
camera b/z it was shorting everything out. Does that make sense?

My husbands 2017 did the same thing, except freeze up. He brought it to a dealer, who has had it since last Wednesday - they replaced the computer - did the same thing. They are currently waiting for an engineer to call them because the dealer has no idea what is wrong with it.
Did they figure out what was wrong with your car? The car has been in the shop 6 days now.
They had to replace the back-up camera. First, they said it was some cap and they replaced that and I got it back and it did the same thing again and I had to have it towed from my driveway. They then did more testing and ad to end up replacing the back-up camera b/z they said it went out and was shorting everything else out. It has now been over 3 weeks and has been running fine since they replaced the camera. I hope that is what is wrong with yours too.
Hyundai tucson 2016 did the exact same thing to me this week thanks to the information this thread I disconnected the reverse camera and I was back driving again. (AA call out had tried to diagnose the problem but the Tucson wouldn't communicate with the tablet. )
For anyone else who finds this thread and is experiencing this issue! I was having all the problems listed above with my 2016 Hyundai Tucson 1.6L Limited and I disconnected the camera but the problem did not go away. Most of the dash lights would come on, speedometer stopped working, LDWS and Blind Spot warning would flash, gear indicator coming in and out, dash lights flickering, turn signals stop working, etc. More importantly, when hooked up to a diagnostic tool the CAN system would not respond or register. We disconnected the secondary vacuum pump and all was well again. There is a recall for this issue! Water gets into the pump and causes it to fail, and since the pump is electronic, it messes with the whole system. Hyundai performed the recall when I took it in for service in June 2019. They only added a sealant to the cap to prevent water getting in. But it was too late, water had already penetrated and ruined the pump which only lasted 20k miles after sealant applied. They refused to cover it and replace the part since I was out of warranty. I had to pay it for it myself $400. Part number is #59200-D3000. You tube video listed below that highlights symptoms. Hope this helps! https://youtu.be/hB4EefEm4g8
ALL the Dash/Warning lights were on this past Monday. Drove OK, but I contacted my local dealership about it and made an appt. for service next week. Well, TODAY, the car will not accelerate one second and then peal out the next... Almost got rear-ended by a Semi! Had it towed via AAA after calling and notifying Service Dept. at Dealer. Was told by Service Rep. that Hyundai is on "Backorder" for parts needed to "Fix" this problem and that it could be MONTHS before anything is done! Also, NO replacement vehicles are available... Class-action lawsuit is needed!
One day later and ALL the warning lights are ON again.
Mine just did the same thing. 2016 Limited Edition 1.6 T. It’s been nothing but a nightmare since purchasing it. Turbo was replaced along with injectors. Catalytic converter, about a year ago. Now the camera was replaced and doing the same thing. It’s back at Hyundai.
