My 2017 ram 1500

Question type: General

Will it hurt my engine to run it
with only 5 qts of oil when it
requires 7qts. Only for a
couple of days until my oil
comes in,ie Amsoil Signature

Don't be cheap and risk a $8,000 engine over 2 quarts of oil.

I just changed it but fell short by 2 qts. I only use Amsoil Signature series 5w20 motor oil in it, and ordered 3 more qts,but it will be 2 to 3 days before it arrives, will it hurt to run it until then

Running two quarts low is a really bad idea. Go ahead and risk the damage if you want. No one here is going to say this is a good idea.

2 quarts low might not hurt a thing. If you do intend to drive it that way I would keep your foot out of it and keep the rpm on the low side. If it were mine I would put 2 quarts of Mobil1 in it to top it off, but I wouldn't be using scamsoil so I would never be in this predicament in the first place.
