this just happened to me- 2016 Dodge Dart -
Joshf123456 answered 5 years ago
Mine was fixed by disconnecting the battery and then reconnecting it
this is crazy this just happened to me too 3 days ago. im going to try the battery idea now,
i just did what Josh said to do. i disconnected the negative side of my battery for about 20 min (dont think length of time matters) but i was doing something, everything is back to normal. i also didnt loose any presets

It just happened to me today. I went into Sam's and when I came out it worked. Still freaking out!

The battery thing didn’t help me after all. I had to have it looked at and the guy at the shop said my cars computer needed updated and that fixed it for good.

Also check the power distribution block on top of the battery. I had the main fuse burn up. And it was the craziest shit I ever seen. It's was telling me my trans needed service brakes and abs you name it. It wouldn hardly run. I couldn go 5 mins down the road without it freaking out and dying. Took about a week to do find the fuse was torched. A 6 doller fuse could cost 100s or more for a shop to tell you the ecm went bad and it only be a burnt fuse Swap fuse good as new. Has happen twice with in the two years iv owned it with just over 125××× miles

Same here the same problem with my radio 7/20/19
My car is having this same issue. However, I disconnected the battery and still nothing. I replaced the battery (still had the original in it from 2013) and nothing. Before I replaced the battery, it would come back on and start working for about 10 minutes and then shut down again. It did this several times during my commute one day. But it is completely out now. I have no idea when else to do, called Dodge and they were like "nope, never heard of that issue" and that was that. Called the dealer and they were like yeah bring it in and let us charge you $399 to diagnose and then the cost to fix which could be a couple thousand if we need to replace the unit, WTF?
My radio stop on me about a month now fixing to try some of the thing yall did
My navigation and climate control just went haywire. When I called to schedule an appointment the dealer said there is an extended warranty on the radio units because of all the issues they have had. You might call the dealer back and ask about the warranty if it is a problem in the radio unit itself.
I have a 2013 Dodge Dart. The very minute that darn warranty ended and BAM! MyGPS goes out. Took it in today finally after dealing with this for 4 years now and find out the whole radio/touchscreen has to be replaced: $780! And also my backup camera shows everything upside down or with blinking lines. Another $550! They told me this is VERY common for both issues.

This Just happened to my car... Wondering if or how we can make this a recall since I bet many people have this issue?
My car did it to but today when I was coming home from work I pushed the info button and the radio can on and the ac turn up and down but don’t know how long it going to last
Just happend to me 2013 some times it works sometimes it dont anyone know whats going on
my radio does this often, Dodge dealership replaced my radio unit and still having same issues only more often now, has anyone come up with a long term solution??
The 2013 to 2016 Dodge Darts are lemons.I have a 2015 with 28.000 miles ,has been in the shop 3 times ,for battery, radio ,tire sensor, engine noise, problems engine just came on and radio flashing turn ignition to start.
I have had the center stack go out 4x in the last two years. Luckily I have a full bumper to bumper warranty for the life of me owning the dart and it hasn't cost me. I was told today that Mopar and Dodge are aware of the issue and working in the r&d department on a resolution. I'm guessing this will be another recall later once they figure out what is causing it.

I always had issues with the Bluetooth, I’d have to restart my car for it to even connect. I was driving downtown and everything stopped working as described: screen black, dials gone, heat full blast in the face (winter here your feet are ice cold though), so annoyingly loud like when someone gets in your car and says turn the heat up and does full blast. But I did notice the Bluetooth still connects? So I check out all the fuses and they are fine. I disconnected the battery before doing this and after reading this page I went to go reconnect it. Everything works again now. Seems fine. Not sure about presets and don’t really care. Before this happened the screen was flickering, backup camera had gone b/w before, clocks and dials reset to different hours. Lines on backup camera. Get it together dodge. I got this car for a great price. And it was the only reason I considered buying a new car at all. $13k for 16k miles. I never buy new. This reminded me why. I’ve dropped more money into this car than my antique 95 Jeep Wrangler. Which has never failed me, and I’ve been able to fix on the side of the road before. I’m sick of the payments and these b^sh!t electrical issues. I bought this car for dependability. Anyone want to buy a dart? #nothappy #newneveragain #dodge
Did work for me !!! Thanks Joshf123456
Here is the letter my boyfriend found. I called the dealership before the letter was found and not very helpful. I called the number in the letter , they gave me the reference number and told me there was indeed an extended warranty. I get my new system installed tomorrow at no cost.

For a while now my car has been doing the same thing. Now I dont have the GPS but I have the radio with blue tooth. Whenever the radio goes out the odometer starts flashing. I have replaced the battery and I have also replaced the fuses. I found that on occasion a temp fix is removing the radio fuse and putting back in, doesnt matter If car is on or off. Also the radio issue for me if I get my radio to work, will continue if I turn my car off and back on within a short period of time. If my radio is working and I turn my car off for the night, the next morning when I turn my car back on the radio works. I have a 2013 dodge dart set. I'm gonna try to update the software and see how that works
I have the same exact issue, did you manage to fix it? thanks
I have a 2013 dart. I replace my centre in 2014 and in 2016. It just died on my again this week. Took it into crest view Chrysler and they told me it is out of the 2 year warranty. So then I called Chrysler Canada and they told me there is nothing they can do because it’s out of its warranty. I got quoted from crest view Chrysler 1300$ just for get a new one. That is not including the labour to replace it. Chrysler Canada would not honour the product even though it has had to be fixed twice in the past.
I tried the disconnection of the negative terminal and while that was off I checked the main buss fuses on the battery block. They were good. When I connected the battery back up and started the car the center was working again. This may be a firmware update issue. If disconnecting the battery resets the system I would have to guess software issue. Hope this helps folks, it helped me. : )
well folks i got my 13 dart off the lot new .after driving up till oct 2019 the radio quit working and odometer flashes off and on. dealer told me it was a battery problem it had a 63% charge in it went to different dealer checked battery 88% charged plus i have my own load tester.. been doing it for 6 mths now. it no longer hard sets. hard set is connecting negative battery cable to positive leave it for 20 mins or so to discharge.. i own a collision shop. so we do the hard set. after 6 mths what gives? nothing from fca dealer.today i got fed up with this flashing odometer and black screen radio bs. take it to dealer. they said ther are moduals in radio that control dash functions. 688.00$ to fix it. it best work or fca will face law suit .this is bs poor design. technology is runing cars now days as a collision shop owner for 35 + yrs i know the laws. 3 times for same problen no fix lemon law lawyer. this has pissed me off the battery lies. i got the car for dependable transportation my 1st new car in my life .i always got a total out of auction fixed it drove it. i figured i deserve a new car working my ass off for 35 yrs.there you have it moduals built into radio that controls other function of the dash.fca knows its a problem should not have any problems at 60k miles.we all need to ban together and hit fca were it hits there profit. keep in mind chrysler is no longer american owned.i say start calling fca and bitch and tell them to fix for free. it wont kill them to do it.all this has done is made me say no more dodge/chrysler. in time i say jeep and ram pick up will be the main seller.they want to quit selling cars. just like ford .ford discontinues contenal they want trucks and suvs.
also the fuse box is the pc fror the car its called a tipm.
I just recently ran into this problem. Whole control panel went out as the heat was on full blast so I couldn’t turn it off. I took it to dodge who charged me over $1,300 to fix this issue. I’m trying to get in touch with those who are higher up in the Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram to see if there’s something we can do to make this a recall. If anyone sees this & wants a shot at getting some or all money they’ve paid to get these repairs, please visit Chrysler.com/chryslercares to fill out a form of the issue you’ve had. We need to be heard about this problem. Thank you.

I noticed nobody commented the code. I had the issues of the computer going black and heat on full blast, and not being able to change it. I disconnected the battery and the computer came back on and I had control of all heat, traction control, etc. again. It’s the U1504 code for dodge vehicles. It’s the steering wheel angle sensor on my particular vehicle. Easy fix on YouTube.
I'm having the same issue and it is below 0⁰ over night in Central Wisconsin. had my car in 5 or 6 times and still not fixed.
Had this same issue today and the battery cable thing resolved

Just had this happen to me yesterday! Following the above comments, I disconnected the negative end of my battery (just looked up how to disconnect dodge dart battery on youtube), let it sit for 5 minutes, reconnected and viola! Screen/buttons worked again.

My '13 DART issues started as a radio static problem. First AM. Then, FM. Then, some days, cant even use radio (AM/FM). Then, would randomly reboot. Once, when ABS kicked in during a winter skid, the entire dash went blank. Recently, my radio screen and climate lighting will randomly start flashing on and off. I just discovered that hitting the brakes seems to remedy this issue. I've also previously had issues with no crank/no start. In short, I believe these problems may ALL be related to the chassis ground. Search youtube for no crank no start issue. shows a couple fixes for it. I plan to try this when weather is not soo hot here.

One user did this and resolved radio and other issues, including rough idle too.
