Frankly, such thing has never happened to me, but I do not own a Honda. Perhaps you will hear from others, Honda owners or not.

I had the “Anti Theft System” “The Navigation system has lost power. Push and hold the power button for more than two seconds to enable the system.” Message come up today. I was powering the car on and off with the Start button. Finally the girlfriend says try the radio power button. That worked.

I still couldn’t get it to work after pressing and holding the audio power button, anyone know why?

My 2017 civic touring lost power to the anti theft system. Nav and entertainment system didn’t work. Screen instructed hold down the power button for two secs to reset. It should say hold down the audio button for two secs to reset. Poor choice of semantics

So my 2016 Honda Civic had the exact same issue. Yes holding down the audio power button for 2 seconds did reset the system. But now the car doesn’t recognize my phone when I plug it into the phone USB port. Does anyone know a simple fix to this?

Did you ever figure this out? The exact same message came up on my 2016 Honda but I didn’t get the chance to read it all. It is working fine but I can’t find anything on this. Have you?

It’s actually talking about the navigation system power button which will be the audio power button while the car is on hold it for two seconds and it should reset it.

It's hard to hold down the button on the panel; touch screens suck. I had to try several times and really press hard to get it to reset. WTF?!?!?

Using a tablet pen worked great. And as per previous post, apply a fair amount of pressure. Thanks for your posts, they were very helpful.

So my vehicle is 2019 Honda CRV, I got new iPhone and was trying to connect Apple CarPlay with my Honda but I didn’t connect so I did factory data restore in setting then it restore everything then I got notice saying Anti-theft system then hold power button for 2 second, but I hold Vol audio for 2 seconds and now it’s working fine. I can even access Waze.

The main reason this is happening is due to Honda hack installed. If you turn the ignition off you should hear the relay click off, switch the ignition back, on first click is ok, you will notice that I doesn't boot up the same each time, this is because the bug from the hack effects it booting like factory, keep switching it on and off and if you get the anti theft power loss, hold the very top button (brightness volume) the audio button and menu button all at the same time, don’t worry try to get the timing right and cover the buttons correctly then will see a screen pop up tap on the bottom section and tap on the bottom left sitting in a uk left hand drive. This will then show a screen allowing you to Choose the skip ain’t lock button. Keep trying it until the unit boots You may get just the type r showing then it may go back to the anti theft screen, Don’t worry keep trying by switching it off waiting for the relay to click off and switch on again, eventually it will boot depending how much crap you download it could take longer Once in you may get a short time before it switches itself off so be quick and delete all the downloads slowing it up Honda hack must be removed otherwise it will not allow you to factory rest in the options menu, don’t just try factory reset as it will try to but but won’t do it completely you must remove the hack that bugging you unit Once all downloads are delete factory reset it a few times and you will see all the downloads gone it will the boot as normal. Make sure you see your old friend mr Android on the screen that means it’s reset itself. Good luck people and happy new year

I had a new battery installed and the message to hold the power button for 2 seconds came up I took the advice and held the audio button in and that seemed to fix the problem. Now the I phone and the other features work . Thanks for the tip!

I have a 2012 CRV and recently changed my battery, which prompted the message to appear: “THE NAVIGATION SYSTEM HAS LOST POWER. PUSH AND HOLD THE POWER BUTTON FOR MORE THAN TWO SECONDS TO ENABLE THE SYSTEM.” I pushed and held the power button, the message did not go away. Follow this additional step to fix the problem: 1. Start engine, wait for message to appear. 2. PRESS PHONE BUTTON 3. Press & hold power/volume button for 2-3 seconds. Message will go away, phone is connected, navigation system is connected, problem solved.
