Normally running board lights are wired to two power points. One being the headlights and the other the dome light. Lights illuminate when either the headlights are on or door is opened. Trace the electrical wires from both left and right running board. Both should terminate in same location for a power source, probably behind a kick plate or under the dash. If these are factory installed lights, the wires may terminate at an independent relay, check it. Question; do any other lights remain on when key is removed? Or other accessory powered.?
